Channel History Expeditions

For September through December of Explore the California Channel Islands, the Camp’s special learning activities focus on the history of the Channel region. From the earliest human life in the region, to pirates and shipwrecks, to ranching and the discovery of oil - these four Expeditions cover the human story in the Channel. And in contemporary history, we take a look at surf culture, movies and music, and get to know the environmental groups working to protect the fragile treasures in the Channel. These basic learning resources are available year round for these Expeditions, and the special guests and virtual field trips are scheduled from September to December.
