Celina's Treatment Example

Brass Bar

Treatment:

Allison and Jenny are having a ridiculous fight over which one of them likes the Backstreet Boys more. Allison's mom comes home and they talk about the problem, but Allison doesn't want her mom to intervene the way she usually does. The next day at school, Jenny won't talk to Allison, and has a whole new group of friends -- the popular kids -- leaving Allison alone. Allison goes home and talks to her mom about Jenny and the way she felt left out at school. They make dinner and talk about the value of having friends and the way real friends should treat each other. That makes Allison feel better, and the next day at school, she doesn't let the fact that Jenny ignores her bother her at all. When she goes home each day, her mom makes an even better effort than usual to talk to Allison about her day, her interests, and her life in general. After a week, Jenny is sitting by herself at lunch. The popular kids have gotten tired of her and now she's alone too. Allison sees this, and, thinking about what her mom said about the way real friends act, goes to sit next to her. Jenny apologizes, they help her mom make dinner, and their friendship is patched up.
