[CINC] CX 4-13-08

I have had three fine days on the water this week. I love this place..

Ginny and I did our thing on the CX, with the whale watchers and want to be whale watchers.  

All the new bee's got there first smell of hump breath. Got them broke in the right way. I made sure that I welcomed them to there new status of whale watcher's. Hey at least it got a laugh. 

The afternoon started out a little frustrating for Captain Matt. It was like there were playing with us. A lot of breaches off in the distance. So Matt went for one and as soon as we would show up there would be a breach 9:o-clock 3:o-clock just everywhere but ware we were.(and along way away) A few of the sounds lasted 15 min.+ and they would come up 100s of yard's away or more.  
 
Finally our luck turned the Cap. spotted some blows towards the west I caught them right after the Captain did I counted 5 spouts. So we went for it, as we got there they broke up into two groups and it took some time for us to settle in. But one of the groups headed away from us and at about 100 yard's or less one breached for us. And the fans went wild. The other three hung out for awhile and turned at us. They did some nice stuff that make up a normal whale watching day. (if there is such a thing)Then just as we were about to call it a day they started to put on a show for us and just 25 yards away. A couple or three tail lobs, some lazy tail slaps then they thought they would take a look see at us and parked them self's under us. Then they would come up right next to us more the just a few times. Then one was blowing bubbles next to us, maybe three good ones and then one of them popped up just off the bow. Not more then ten feet away. Finally they got board and headed off into the sun set. Thanks you humps for opening all our heart and making us smile. 
Needless to say we got back to the dock late, but I don't think any of us cared.
