[CINC] VHF Radio operation for day hikers, plus dispatch breaks

Hi All!
Derek sends the following response to Scott's query:
in the quick reference guide it describes proper radio edicate. also,
radios are only supposed to be used in emergencies, but you may do a radio
check with island packers on channel 18 before you start the day on the
island if you would like.
If you have additional questions, please send them directly to me or Dave Begun (see below) and not to the RAIN list.
