   - Capt. Don's Speed Twin
   - 6+ humpbacks and many friendly sea lions
   - Santa Barbara Pier

It was a beautiful day with many passengers and naturalist Cal Meuser on
board. Unfortunately we started off a little late because we had to go back
for a group that was late. We eventually found a humpback and stayed with it
for the rest of the trip. It even breached maybe 100-150 yards off the bow!
And I missed it!! I was and still am heartbroken.

For the afternoon trip both naturalists Cal and Laura Shelton were on board
(a little mix up, but there were enough passengers on board to put each of
us to work!). This trip started off late as well for a group of 20 was 40
minutes late. But we were quickly rewarded with multiple blows in the
distance of humpback whales who were tail lobbing/throwing, although they
quieted down as soon as we reached them. We encountered a trio, and later a
pair who were breaching and active as well but quieted down as soon as we
reached them. Even as we made our way back to the harbor we were still
surrounded by blows. It was quite an awesome day for this newbie naturalist.

Morning trip was canceled.
