Sightings:

25 Dall's Porpoise

Mega pod Commons

25-50 Risso's Dolphin

*5-10 Northern Right-Whale Dolphin

1 Blue

 

Approximately 20 passengers enjoyed the above sightings on the way towards
the west end of SCI. Weather conditions prevented us from going further west
so we went directly to painted cave, on the way we encountered the Northern
Right-Whale Dolphins mixed in with both Risso's and Commons. It was quite a
sight, Cpt. Mat said it was the first time he had seen the Northern
Right-Whale Dolphin since Sept. of last year!

Shortly after leaving painted cave we saw the single Blue which was moving
quickly and staying down for about 11 min. intervals, consequently, there
were no up close and personnal  views for Morgan Coffey (PID) or fellow
Naturalist Dean Benjamin.
