The Island Fox is found only on six of the eight California Channel Islands. On the islands of Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel and Catalina, the Island Fox is listed as endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.

You will learn about the Island Fox, why it is endangered, what is being done to save this charismatic tiny carnivore, and how you can help.

This is your chance to increase your knowledge about the ecosystems on the Channel Islands and how they have been upset by the low populations of Island Foxes. You can educate others about the need to save the Island Fox and its habitat. Your help with the education about this endangered canine will be invaluable to the work underway to save this unique species from extinction.

Not only will you learn about the Island Fox, but you will also meet one. You will be introduced to Finnigan, an Island Fox from Santa Rosa Island, at the Santa Barbara Zoo where we will learn more about the species and the care they need.

We hope to see you on October 4th for a fun learning experience and a chance to meet fellow volunteers from many organizations.
