10 blues
500 common dolphin

 >>>>

We were on the north side of the gap between Santa Cruz and Santa
Rosa, and there were blue whales everywhere. First three, then two
more, then it got hard to count. About 10 minute dives. The blues
would often surface as near as 50 yards from the boat, but no real
interaction, like Humpbacks sometimes do. These whales seemed very
relaxed around the boat. Great views of red whale poop. Many spouts
off in the distance too. I even saw what appeared to be a partial
breach by three blues off in the distant trying to impress a female,
according to captain Mat. A small, but high quality crowd with
people from Holland, Sweden, and beyond. Tears were shed at the
sight of dolphins. Lots of little baby dolphins were seen.

Vivi Teston was also on board with me, and no one on photo ID.

Regards,

Scott Cuzzo
