Thoughts go out to all living and involved in this area, including
volunteers, staff, friends, and family. Here is the latest update from
Assemblymember Pedro Nava for those interested:

Jesusita Fire Update
The following is a consolidated report of state operations and fire
activity in Santa Barbara County. Information in this report is gathered from
state and county offices of emergency services. Information may not be verified
and may change quickly.
EXTENT OF DAMAGE:
*Total Acres Burned to Date: 1,300 acres
*Percent Contained: 0%
*Fatalities and Injuries: 10 injured firefighters (Three of the injured
firefighters have been stabilizing and being treated at the burn center. We
have no information on the other seven.)
*Structures Destroyed: Numerous structures have been damaged or destroyed
*Structures Threatened: 3,500 residences and 100 commercial buildings
*Mandatory Evacuation Orders: 13,575 residents
*Evacuation Warning Area: 13,000 residents
SUMMARY:
The Jesusita Fire is burning in the San Roque Canyon region of Santa
Barbara County. The fire is being managed under unified command between the Los
Padres National Forest and Santa Barbara County Fire with assistance from
Ventura County Sheriff?s Office. Numerous structures have been damaged or
destroyed. Red Flag conditions are expected to remain in effect until Friday.
Mandatory Evacuation Orders are in Effect For: Morada Lane (western
boundary) and Ontare north to Camino Cielo, Foothill Road and Morada to San Roque,
San Roque south to State Street, State Street to Micheltorena north to the
end of the road, extending to the Alameda Padre Serra, Alameda Padre Serra
east to Sycamore Canyon Road (eastern boundary), north on Sycamore Canyon to
Highway 192 west to El Cielito.
A Mandatory Evacuation Order means that residents are being directed to
leave their homes immediately.
Evacuation Warning/Advisories are in Effect For: All areas west of Coyote
Road/Sycamore Canyon Road N, north of Alameda Padre Serra to Los Olivos,
North of Constance Road to State Street, North of State Street o La Cumbre Road,
East of La Cumbre Road to Foothill Road and West of Highway 154 from
Foothill Road (Highway 192) to East Camino Cielo Road.
An evacuation warning means that residents should be prepared to leave
immediately if their area is upgraded to an Order.

FIRE ASSISTANCE:
* Jesusita Fire Call Center number is (805) 681-5197
*The American Red Cross (ARC) has opened up a shelter at Dos Pueblos High
School at 7266 Alameda Avenue in Goleta.
*Three Residential Care Facilities for the elderly have been evacuated.
All residents are reported to be doing fine.
* Call the Animal Services hotline ? (805) 681-4332 to be directed to a
shelter location.
*A large animal shelter is located at the Earl Warren Fairgrounds on Calle
Real -- Los Positas entrance.

WATER CONSERVATION
Maintaining the elevation of the water levels in the reservoirs is
essential for the fire department, in order to fight the fire. Please conserve
water as much as possible within or without the evacuation zones. If you
evacuate, please turn off your water service to avoid potential loss of water
pressure in the affected area.
