Configuring Remote Access

Open the Remote Access Control Panel

Check the "Registered User" radio button

Click in the "Name" box: and enter ppp:username where username is your RAIN username

Enter your RAIN password in the "Password" box

Enter your local RAIN dialup number in the "Number" box

Click the Options button at the bottom of the Window

Click the tab labeled Redialing

Select the option that best suits you

Click the tab labeled Connection

Leave Use verbose logging UNCHECKED. The Reminders can be configured to best suit your needs

Click the Protocol tab

Choose Use protocol: PPP

We suggest leaving "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications" UNCHECKED

Check the "Allow error correction..." and "Use TCP header compression" checkboxes

Leave "Connect to a command line host" UNCHECKED

Click the OK button to finish your configuration

Close Remote Access and save your changes
