Weekly ARES Nets

Ventura City, Area 6 and 7: Ours is a directed net, held on the N6VUY Repeater at 1900 hours Pacific time every Tuesday, 146.975 Mhz, offset -600 Khz, P/L tone 127.3 Hz. All licensed operators are invited to check in.

Area 6 and 7 members and visitors, upon invitation by Net Control, please check in with your CALL SIGN, FIRST NAME, ACS ID# (if any), and TRAFFIC or ANNOUNCEMENT LISTING (if any). Click Here for Area 6 and 7 Net Script, Login, then select Files, Net Script.

Members and visitors, if you have NOT checked in to a local net for Areas 1 thru 8, please check in to the Ventura County ACS/ARES Net following the poll of each of the 8 areas, upon invitation by Net Control. Check in with your CALL SIGN, ACS ID# (if any), and ANNOUNCEMENT or TRAFFIC LISTING (if any). Click Here for the Ventura County Net Script.

Ventura County Net Checkin Procedure

Please tune in to the Ventura County weekly ARES net on 146.880 or 224.020 at 19:30 Pacific time for further information on any ARES events, or contact any of our Emergency Coordinators. Just click on K6NE ARES link above for a list of the Emergency Coordinator Leadership.

Packet Radio Checkin Procedure

You can check in on packet for the Tuesday night ARES Net via one or more of the follow methods:

1. On 145.650 Mhz, connect to VCROC (or AA6VH-9 if you connect via the packet network, i.e., VNTURA, OJAI, etc.), leave the following message:

TO: st ckin
SUBJECT: yourcall, your ACS#, EARLY CHECKIN
NO MESSAGE BODY IS NEEDED, it will likely not be read.

NOTE: THIS MESSAGE IS TYPE TRAFFIC. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE BULLETIN OR PERSONAL TYPE MESSAGES AS THEY ARE MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE WHEN READ!!!

2. Using APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System) software, on 144.390 Mhz., SORRY - NO ONE IS PRESENTLY MONITORING APRS FOR CHECK INS
